To make the automatic transmission work faster and more precisely, engineers combined the electro-hydraulic clutch and gear selection mechanisms into a single unit installed directly on the transmission housing.

Thanks to constant pressure in the hydraulic system, shifts are performed promptly based on signals from the electronic control unit. A manual mode is also provided for independent gear selection. As a result, the fuel efficiency of a car with such a gearbox remains at the level of the version with a manual transmission.

More detailed information will become available on February 5, when the new product is shown at the auto show in Delhi. The surprises from Suzuki this year do not end there: the company also plans to present its own diesel engines with a displacement of 0.8 and 1.5 liters.
