Yes, the most interesting thing, perhaps, is that the Duster III will be a hybrid (although this fact was not a secret before, it's just that now it has been confirmed by an official). Ferry did not say this directly, but stated that it will be based on the new CMF-B platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, which allows for the implementation of a hybrid system and, at the same time, the integration of more modern electronics and safety systems into the car.

The same chassis is used by the latest generation of Nissan Juke, as well as the budget models Logan and Sandero of the III generations. In addition, recently, the 7-seat crossover-wagon Dacia (Renault) Jogger debuted on this platform – it, by the way, will have a hybrid version in 2023 (so far only internal combustion engine variants have been announced).

Also, the project manager emphasized that the new Duster will definitely remain one of the cheapest all-wheel-drive crossovers on the market.

There are, however, other details about the Duster III, although unconfirmed. So, according to rumors, it will get a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder gasoline turbo engine (1.0 TCe) – from the same Juke. The engine will be available in a classic gasoline version, with a mild hybrid system, as a basis for a plug-in hybrid setup, as well as a gas version (LPG). The already famous 1.5 dCi will disappear from the range, as will other diesels. Also, a 4-cylinder 1.3 TCe is expected in the lineup, which the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance is working on in cooperation with the Daimler concern.

Finally, it is reported that the length of the Duster will increase from 4.34 to 4.38 m, the width will grow from 1.8 to 1.84 m, and the height will decrease from 1.69 to 1.67 m. The design of the car is still unknown; the images presented in this note show only its approximate appearance, which was drawn by the designers of Autocar and the French Largus.

Note that the Duster of the current, second generation has been produced since 2017.
