The new Toyota Grand Highlander will be positioned between the familiar Highlander and the body-on-frame Sequoia SUV. Thus, the model will become the largest crossover in the Toyota lineup.

It is expected that the new model will be built on the Toyota Highlander platform, but the dimensions will be increased. This will provide more space for passengers in the second and especially the third row, and will also allow for an increase in cargo volume. As with the standard Highlander, seven- and eight-seat options will be available.
Likely, the large Toyota crossover will get a 3.5-liter gasoline V6 with 300 horsepower, as well as a hybrid powertrain with 243 horsepower, which combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. Modifications with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive should also be expected.
