The photos show one of 30 pre-production prototypes that will undergo final road tests before launch on the assembly line. The car's name is MeganE or Megane e-Tech (the French haven't yet decided on the exact name).

The electric Megane is only partially camouflaged, so it's easy to examine its exterior in detail: as you can see, it features narrow but elongated headlights, as well as a high beltline that, in the rear area, runs as close as possible to the roofline. The front door handles are positioned classically, on the doors themselves, while the rear ones are integrated into the C-pillar. The car has no radiator grille, as it simply doesn't need one. Instead, there's a narrow black strip connecting the headlights.

The MeganE is built on the modular CMF-EV platform, which Renault developed specifically for electric vehicles together with its alliance partner Nissan (the same chassis underpins the electric crossover Nissan Ariya, which is expected to hit the market next winter, although it debuted back in 2020). Most likely, the electric Megane will have several versions, but so far there's information only about one of them – a single-motor (front-wheel-drive) version with 217 horsepower and a 60 kWh battery. Such a crossover will be able to travel up to 450 km on a single charge under the WLTP cycle.

The manufacturer promises to show the final version of the Renault MeganE by the end of the year.
