Opel Astra 2022 design
Judging by the pictures, the Opel Astra 2022 will follow in the footsteps of the new crossover Opel Mokka. This applies to both the exterior and the interior. The main element of the body will be the characteristic front end – narrow headlights and a darkened radiator grille, designed as a single unit. Inside, attention will be drawn to a large touch panel with a bend in the middle – on the left there will be a digital instrument cluster, and on the right – a multimedia screen.

However, technically the Opel Astra 2022 will also be radically different: it will inherit the internals of the new Peugeot 308, that is, in the range of engines one should expect petrol units of 1.2 and 1.6 liters, as well as a 1.5-liter diesel.
Such changes in the history of the model are not surprising. The fact is that the current Astra was created back when Opel belonged to the General Motors concern, but its successor is already being prepared under the wing of another group – Stellantis (it was recently formed by the PSA and FCA concerns). Therefore, the new Astra will also have a “Peugeot-Citroen” platform – EMP2. This architecture, by the way, is tailored for electric vehicles, so it is possible that the German bestseller will also receive a plug-in version.
Finally, it is known that the Opel Astra 2022 will have two body styles – hatchback and station wagon. The manufacturer decided to abandon the coupe version.
