The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 reaches 4635 mm in length, 1890 mm in width and 1605 mm in height and has a substantial wheelbase of 3000 mm. The car is built on a new platform created specifically for electric vehicles.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is positioned as a crossover, although it looks more like a raised hatchback. The angular exterior is in the spirit of the 1975 Hyundai Pony, the firstborn of the Korean brand. Among the interesting design details are pixel LED optics and retractable door handles.

In the cabin, on the front panel, the 12-inch virtual instrument display and multimedia are grouped into one block. The transmission selector is moved to the steering column. The front seats can be folded down, and the center console slides back 140 mm to free up space. Options include solar panels on the roof.

The Hyundai electric car turned out to be very spacious for its size, and the rear seats have horizontal adjustment. The trunk volume is 531 liters in the normal state and 1600 liters with the rear seats folded. There is also a front trunk: its volume is 57 liters in rear-wheel-drive versions and 24 liters in rear-wheel-drive ones.

The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be offered in several versions:

  • one motor, 168 hp and 350 N∙m, rear-wheel drive, 8.5 s to 100 km/h, top speed – 185 km/h;
  • one motor, 215 hp and 350 N∙m, rear-wheel drive, 7.4 s to 100 km/h, top speed – 185 km/h;
  • two motors, 232 hp and 605 N∙m, all-wheel drive, 6.1 s to 100 km/h, top speed – 185 km/h;
  • two motors, 302 hp and 605 N∙m, all-wheel drive, 5.2 s to 100 km/h, top speed – 185 km/h;

The 168 and 232 hp versions got a battery with a capacity of 58 kWh, while the other two versions have 72.6 kWh. In the latter case, the range is 480 km according to the WLTP cycle. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 2021 supports fast 350-kilowatt charging – in this case, you can charge up to 80% in just 18 minutes.
