The output of the 3.5-liter V6 engine with two turbos was increased from 656 to 669 horsepower thanks to different settings of the electronic control unit. In addition, the unit received upgraded pistons and ignition coils, as well as larger intercoolers and a titanium exhaust from the Slovenian company Akrapovic, which is 4 kg lighter than the standard one.

After the update, the supercar's air intake shape changed, and the damping characteristics of the suspension in the Track driving mode were also improved.
The Ford GT will be available with the Liquid Carbon styling package, which includes a body and body kit made of unpainted carbon fiber and carbon wheels. In addition, the supercar's Gulf Racing package was updated, referencing the famous GT40 race car that won at Le Mans in 1968 and 1969.

In 2018, Ford decided to extend the production period of the GT supercar due to high demand for the model. The cycle will last until 2022, and the production volume of the coupe will increase from the previously planned 1,000 to 1,350 units.
