Subaru has decided to supplement the information that the new-generation sporty Levorg prototype is based on the modular Subaru Global Platform (SGP) architecture and uses a 1.8-liter boxer turbo engine as the power unit with details about the mechatronics, but without specifying the characteristics. Although, judging by the Levorg 2.0 GT Eyesight V-Sport, the new wagon should have no less than 296 horsepower.

For the first time in the history of the Japanese brand, the car is equipped with electronically controlled shock absorbers with adjustable stiffness levels, as well as a Drive Mode Select system for choosing operating modes of the control electronics. The switch is located on the steering wheel. Each profile corresponds to certain settings of the engine, suspension, power steering, and all-wheel drive transmission. The system is similar to the previous SI-Drive but offers greater control over the car's character.

Externally, the Levorg Prototype STI Sport repeats the prototype from last year's Tokyo Motor Show, which, in turn, borrowed the styling of the 2018 Viziv Tourer concept. The basis of the model's design language is the Dynamic x Solid philosophy, supplemented by the Bolder concept, which emphasizes the character of each car in the Subaru lineup.
