Hyundai has introduced a hybrid modification of the new generation Sonata sedan. The car features a solar panel system located on the roof. It is used to recharge the battery and increases the range on a single charge. The company stated that by charging this way for 6 hours a day, the annual mileage can be increased by 1300 km.
The new model is also equipped with a 2.0-liter GDi HEV engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The total power of the car is 195 horsepower. The average fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 4.97 liters per 100 km.

In addition, the Sonata has received the ASC system, which uses an electric motor to synchronize the speed of the engine shaft and transmission. This reduces shifting time by 30%, improves fuel efficiency, and increases the service life of the transmission.

The car uses the corporate design language called Sensuous Sportiness. This direction was first shown on the Le Fil Rouge concept car, presented in 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car features LED lighting, a signature radiator grille, and a new spoiler. The driver has access to a forward collision warning system, lane keeping assist, and a digital key that allows remote control of some vehicle systems via a smartphone.
