The new model differs from other representatives of the current Kia Ceed family with a completely different front end featuring modified headlights, a differently shaped radiator grille, and a different bumper.

Compared to the standard hatchback, the crossover's length has grown by 85 mm (to 4935 mm), width by 26 mm (to 1826 mm), and height by 43 mm (to 1490 millimeters). The ground clearance of the new model is 184 mm, which is 42 mm more than the clearance of the regular five-door.
To increase comfort, the stiffness of the shock absorbers at the front and rear has been reduced by 7% and 4%, respectively. In addition, engineers have developed a new dynamic damper for the rear cross member, designed to reduce noise and vibration levels.

The trunk volume is 426 liters, which is 31 liters more than the hatchback. With the rear seats folded in a 40:20:40 ratio, the trunk capacity grows to 1378 liters. In addition, there is a small two-level compartment at the rear for additional luggage. For top versions, a power tailgate is available.
As for the interior, it almost completely replicates the interior of other representatives of the Kia Ceed family, but for the XCeed crossover, a new, fully digital instrument panel with a 12.3-inch diagonal is offered as an option.

The Kia XCeed shares the engine range with the regular hatchback, which in Europe includes a turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline unit with a volume of 1 liter and a power of 120 hp, as well as a turbocharged 1.4-liter "four" producing 140 horsepower. In addition, a turbocharged 1.6-liter unit from the Ceed GT and ProCeed GT is available, which develops 204 hp and 265 N·m of torque.
As for diesels, among them are 1.6-liter engines with a power of 115 hp (280 N·m) and 136 hp (320 N·m). Transmissions are a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch robot. Drive is exclusively to the front wheels.
European sales of the Kia XCeed will start in the third quarter of this year.
