European sales of the car designed to fill the gap between the EcoSport and Kuga models will begin before the end of the year. Production of the cars will be set up at the plant in Craiova, Romania. The main competitor of the crossover is called the Volkswagen T-Roc.

The car was built on the platform of the new generation Ford Fiesta hatchback. The Ford Puma received a trunk volume of 456 liters, which should be a "best-in-class indicator."

Inside the cabin - a digital instrument panel, an 8-inch touchscreen display of the SYNC 3 multimedia system, seats with massage function, and an audio system with ten speakers. The driver has access to active cruise control, a rear-view camera, an emergency braking system, a parking assistance system, a pedestrian detection function, and a lane-keeping system.

The Ford Puma can be purchased with a powertrain operating on a "mild hybrid" scheme. The three-cylinder EcoBoost gasoline turbo engine with a displacement of one liter works in tandem with a belt-driven starter-generator capable of accumulating electrical energy obtained during braking or coasting. The system feeds a 48-volt on-board network based on lithium-ion batteries. The total output of the units is 125 and 155 horsepower.
