The length of the McLaren GT is 4.68 m, and the width is 2.09 m, making it the most spacious car in the company's lineup (except for the already sold-out Speedtail). The car's weight is 1530 kg — "at least 130 kg lighter than its closest competitors."
The McLaren GT is based on a carbon monocoque with a new rear structure. At the rear, there is a glass tailgate section of the luggage compartment with a volume of 420 liters. Engineers had to position the powertrain and exhaust system as low as possible to achieve such figures.

In the nose of the car, there is another compartment of 150 liters. Thus, the supercar can carry up to 570 liters of cargo — 200 liters more than its ideological successor, the 570GT.
Inside, two special seats were installed, specifically designed for long journeys. They have electric adjustments, a heating function, and enhanced support in the back and shoulder areas. The driver and passenger have a Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 12 speakers and a subwoofer with a Kevlar housing.
To reduce noise and vibration levels, engineers used special "softer" engine mounts. The car is powered by a four-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 620 hp and 630 N·m of torque. The engine works in conjunction with a seven-speed dual-clutch "robot" gearbox. The McLaren GT can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and its top speed is 327 km/h.

The supercar features adaptive suspension with special sensors that scan the road surface, allowing the electronics to apply optimal damper settings in two milliseconds. Additionally, there are three preset modes: Comfort, Sport, and Track.
The McLaren GT is already available for order worldwide. In the UK, the practical supercar will cost 163 thousand pounds sterling.
