The public debut of the new model is scheduled for September 18 in Tarragona, Spain.

According to the creators, the all-wheel-drive SUV is designed so that it can easily conquer a 70-degree incline and withstand a lateral tilt of up to 85 degrees.

The Seat Tarraco model will be equipped with a new Rollover Assist safety system: if onboard sensors detect a risk of rollover, the system will automatically open the doors, shut down the powertrain, and contact emergency services. In addition, the list of available equipment will include adaptive suspension.

The car is based on the modular MQB platform, familiar from the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace. It is expected that the engine lineup will consist of 1.4 and 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engines, as well as two-liter turbo diesels with varying levels of tuning. The crossover will be available with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

The exterior of the flagship Seat model will be styled in the spirit of its more compact siblings — the Ateca and Arona. The interior, however, will likely be completely different, and a virtual instrument panel will be offered as an additional option.
