The concept of the electric SUV was first shown in September 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is expected that the production crossover will not differ significantly from the prototype both externally and technically.

The Audi E-Tron features two external video cameras that replace traditional side mirrors. The image from the devices is displayed on seven-inch OLED screens located in the upper right corners of the door panels.

The driver will be able to zoom in or out on the "picture" and also use one of three special modes with optimal camera settings for parking, maneuvering, and driving at high speed on the highway. Currently, Audi is negotiating with authorities to officially allow the use of such cameras that replace standard external mirrors.

In addition, the crossover has a fully digital instrument panel, as well as two large displays on the center console, one of which is responsible for controlling multimedia, and the second for the climate control system and other functions. A similar scheme is used on the new generation A6, A7, and A8 models, as well as on the recently introduced Q8.

The production Audi E-Tron will be equipped with two electric units, together producing 360 hp. However, when activating sport mode for a short time, the power can increase to more than 400 hp. The crossover will be able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in six seconds, and its top speed will be 200 km/h.

The motors will be powered by a set of batteries with a capacity of 95 kWh, which will allow driving up to 400 kilometers without recharging. When using a 150-kilowatt fast charging system, the battery reserve can be replenished in half an hour.
