The story goes like this. Mr. Burns decided to give his wife an electric crossover Audi e-tron. However, the happiness was short-lived. Shortly after the purchase, his wife got into a minor accident, in which the Audi sustained insignificant damage. As is clearly visible in the photo, only the rear bumper of the e-tron was affected. According to Steve, the accident occurred at a speed of just 10-15 km/h.

Immediately after the incident, Burns contacted the official service center, where a series of not very pleasant surprises awaited him. First of all, he had to wait a whole 6 weeks for the repair – Audi explained this by problems in the spare parts supply chain. But that's not the worst part. What shocked Steve the most was the repair cost – almost $38,000! That was the figure stated in the invoice.

Of course, the car owner was extremely outraged, so the service center reduced the price somewhat – to $31,252. However, this time Burns predictably remained dissatisfied and demanded explanations. Then the service center detailed the costs: it turned out that the e-tron needed the entire rear bumper assembly replaced, the adjacent body panels on the right, the wheel arch trim of the right rear wheel, plus some moldings. Moreover, the majority of the amount was for labor – $17,276. The parts themselves were valued at $10,741. The rest of the money went to other related expenses.

On the bright side – the Burns family will have to pay only $500 out of their own pocket, the rest will be covered by insurance. Nevertheless, Steve was so shocked by what happened that he still described this case in detail on his Twitter page.
