The premiere of the Cupra e-Racer took place in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The electric car is built on the platform of the Leon hatchback, which participates in TCR touring car racing. The e-Racer's powertrain delivers 408 hp in nominal mode, and a peak of 680 horsepower.
The motor receives energy from a battery pack with a capacity of 65 kWh, which consists of 6072 cells — this is approximately the same as 9000 batteries from mobile phones. The Cupra e-Racer accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and it needs 8.2 seconds to reach 200 km/h. The maximum speed of the electric car is 270 kilometers per hour.
