During the government question hour in parliament, Svyrydenko noted that the state is currently functioning under conditions of significantly limited resources, which primarily go to salaries, payments to families of fallen defenders, and the needs of the defense sector — from drones to modern 'deep strike' systems.
'We are committed to 'zero' customs clearance, but the key question is where to get the funds. Finding a proper source of financing is not easy when every hryvnia now works for the front and social security. If such an option appears — the government will certainly implement this decision,' the head of government emphasized.
It is about the possibility of importing one car without paying customs duty for combatants with certain restrictions on value, so that the benefit has a targeted social nature and does not place an additional burden on the budget.
It is worth mentioning that the Verkhovna Rada has repeatedly raised the issue of simplified import of used cars from abroad, in particular for veterans. Experts note that such an initiative could be a significant help for defenders returning to civilian life, especially in remote settlements where a car is not a luxury but a means of transportation and a guarantee of normal living.
