The driver in court challenged the speeding fine issued to him. He was outraged by the fact that patrol officers held the TruCam radar in their hands. He decided to prove that this device can only be used when mounted on a stationary object.

The court took into account that according to Art. 40 of the Law "On the National Police", "the police to ensure public safety and order may attach to uniforms, official vehicles, mount/place along the outer perimeter of roads and buildings automatic photo and video equipment...".

Based on this, the court concluded that speed measurement devices can only be placed stationary. It was also ruled that manual speed measurements can have a large error, which casts doubt on the accuracy of the data.

The court also noted that the legislation does not provide for other ways of mounting laser speed meters TruCam than placing them on stationary objects. Accordingly, measuring speed from hands was declared illegal and the fine was canceled.
