True, this applies only to one market – the USA. However, the situation is such that the electric Nissan Leaf may also get a price cut in other countries where it is sold.
This is due to the fact that the model is gradually becoming outdated (currently the second generation is on sale, which debuted in 2017) and the manufacturer understands that it is becoming increasingly difficult for it to compete with other new electric vehicles that, at a similar price, have better characteristics (especially regarding driving range on a single charge).

As a result, the most affordable Nissan Leaf (battery – 40 kWh, power – 150 hp) can now be bought in the USA for $28,375 – that is $4,245 less than before. At the same time, the upgraded Nissan Leaf Plus (battery – 62 kWh, motor – 217 hp) now starts at $33,375. In its case, the price has decreased by $6,545.
Given the revised price lists, the Nissan Leaf can now rightfully claim to be one of the most affordable electric vehicles.
It is worth noting that this summer in Ukraine (finally) official sales of Nissan Leaf started (the car is available with the younger, 40-kilowatt-hour battery, but in a very advanced trim). Leafs had been imported to our country before (by gray dealers), but in this case, the buyer can count on a warranty, which is actually quite important (the warranty on the car itself is 3 years or 100,000 km of mileage, on electrical components – 5 years or 100,000 km, and on the battery – 8 years or 160,000 km).
