The Verkhovna Rada worked almost until morning, managing to pass the Budget-2015 overnight and vote on numerous bills. In particular, deputies effectively approved the introduction of a transport tax.

From January 1, a tax is introduced on gasoline and diesel cars with an engine displacement of more than 3 thousand cubic centimeters and up to 5 years old at a rate of 25 thousand hryvnias per year. This was stated from the rostrum by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

Deputies also voted for the introduction of an excise tax on trucks and an excise tax on vehicle conversion.

As AUTO-Consulting writes, given the haste in which the laws were adopted, it is still problematic to draw conclusions about the introduction of an additional 5% fee on foreign cars. The reason is that Arseniy Yatsenyuk first wants to coordinate this innovation with the EU and WTO.

Simply put, it can be said unequivocally that in the new year, motorists and car buyers (both new and used) will have to factor in new expenses. How large they will be will become clear after the written norms and implementations appear, since at the moment some of them can only be judged from the government's words.
