As reported by The Drive, the incident took place on the evening of June 28. Three men attacked a blue 2006 Acura TSX sedan – they decided to take possession of the car, demanding that the driver and his passenger leave the cabin. At first, everything went according to plan: the car owner and his companion obeyed the attackers, after which the latter jumped into the Acura and tried to drive away. But it was not to be: the trio spent no more than 20 seconds in the car, after which they ran out and fled. The hapless car thieves failed to handle the manual transmission.

Despite the failed theft, the police are still looking for the criminals. It is expected that their capture is a matter of time, as the crime was recorded on video.

It is worth noting that such cases are gradually becoming commonplace: the fact is that cars with a manual transmission are becoming rarer, and people who know how to drive cars with such a gearbox are becoming fewer. According to a survey conducted in 2016, only 18% of Americans could drive a vehicle with three pedals. And now their number has certainly become even smaller. And it's not about laziness: many drivers rightly note that such cars are outdated and complicated.

By the way, a similar story happened in Australia in May of this year: two criminals stole a Hyundai i20, but could not drive away due to the manual transmission.
