Most popular electric cars in Ukraine
According to Opendatabot, a total of 27,732 electric cars have been purchased in Ukraine since 2015. Of these, the majority were from the following brands:
- Nissan – 13,766 units
- Tesla – 4,366 units
- Chevrolet – 1,458 units
As for the most popular models among Ukrainians from these manufacturers, the top list looks like this:
- Nissan Leaf – 13,656 units
- Tesla Model S – 1,552 units
- Tesla Model X – 851 units
- Chevrolet Bolt – 1,300 units
It is also noted that the majority of electric cars – 26,206 units – were purchased in other countries and then imported into Ukraine. The rest were bought within the country itself.

It should be noted that this statistics includes absolutely all electric cars – both new and used. But, of course, the lion's share falls on used ones. Moreover, it is important to note that none of these electric cars are officially sold in Ukraine except for the Leaf (however, the importer has brought the second generation of the electric hatchback to our country, while the vast majority of Leafs on the roads are first-generation models).
Currently, a used Leaf I can be bought on the secondary market for an average of 8-12 thousand dollars. Used Teslas cost from 20-25 thousand. About the same is asked for Chevrolet Bolts.
