Volkswagen continues to be the undisputed leader among brands, significantly ahead of competitors. This popularity is driven by a large number of affordable models, reasonable prices at auctions in Europe, and ease of maintenance. In second place, as before, is Audi, which holds the title of the most sought-after among used premium cars. Next on the list are Nissan, Tesla, and BMW. Interest in electric vehicles, particularly Tesla models, is steadily growing, especially in metropolitan areas. Additionally, the top ten includes Ford, Renault, Hyundai, Skoda, and KIA.
The main surprise this month was the change of leader in the model ranking. Tesla Model Y overtook the long-time record holder, the Volkswagen Golf. This situation is largely caused by the anticipated increase in prices for electric cars, prompting drivers to close deals right now. At the same time, the Golf partially maintains its position thanks to the availability of an electric modification.
In the middle of the ranking, an interesting picture is also observed: the Skoda Octavia almost caught up with the Tesla Model 3 in the number of initial registrations. Furthermore, the Nissan Leaf turned out to be more in demand than the once very popular SUV, the Nissan Rogue. This indicates that buyers are increasingly choosing small and practical electric vehicles, while interest in large SUVs is waning.
The average age of cars that joined the Ukrainian vehicle fleet in August decreased to 8.5 years, whereas a month earlier it was 8.7 years. This indicates that relatively newer vehicles are gradually entering the domestic market.
Also, last month, several rare premium vehicles were brought to Ukraine: one Rolls-Royce, one Bentley, two Aston Martins, four Lamborghinis, and twelve Maseratis.
Thus, the used car market in Ukraine shows overall stability, but new trends are already emerging: electric models are increasingly displacing the usual favorites, and the average age of imported cars is slowly decreasing.
