This is the first European Toyota site that will produce exclusively electric cars. The project was publicly presented by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Minister of Industry Lukáš Vlček. According to them, the agreement was reached through lengthy negotiations in Japan and Europe, as well as thanks to the support of the Czech government, which is investing over 1.5 billion crowns in the creation of a battery assembly line.
The plant in Kolín has long been among Toyota's main production facilities in Europe, but now it is becoming a hub for new technologies. For the Czech Republic, this means 245 additional jobs and a significant economic boost estimated at 6 billion crowns. For Ukraine, the key point is that the production of a global automaker is located practically next door.
Given the logistical advantages and proximity to markets, the new Czech Toyota project can facilitate the supply of electric vehicles to our country. For Ukrainian buyers, this is a sign that the global movement towards electric transport is becoming increasingly real and accessible.
