The rise in car prices in the United States, caused by increasing costs, may adjust the preferences of local buyers, and this will not bypass the used car market either.

For Ukraine, such a development is significant, since the lion's share of cars comes precisely from the American market. If new tariffs provoke a general price increase, Ukrainians will have to dig deeper into their pockets when buying vehicles at US auctions.

Moreover, if imports of sought-after models decrease, they will become more expensive on the domestic car market. And in the case where automakers partially relocate their production facilities to the US territory, the cost of such cars may rise even more noticeably.

If increased rates apply not only to cars with internal combustion engines but also to electric vehicles, this will hit imports of Tesla and other 'electrics' from American platforms. In Ukraine, the electric transport segment is gaining momentum, so any price jump for such cars could slow down this dynamic.

The rise in prices of American cars may also affect the price tags for maintenance and repair. Components traditionally ordered from the US are likely to increase in price, which will raise monthly costs of maintaining such cars in Ukraine.

Thus, despite the fact that Ukraine is not directly involved in this trade confrontation, the consequences of tariff disputes between the US, Mexico, and Canada may significantly and noticeably affect our market for foreign cars.
