The Most Reliable and Unreliable Car Brands

The study is based on a survey of nearly 13,000 motorists: they were asked about what cars they drive, what breakdowns they encountered over the last 12 months of operation, how long it took to resolve the repair issue, and how much it cost them to fix the malfunction(s). In total, 175 models from 31 car manufacturers took part in the study, each of which was given a unique reliability rating.
