To compile a rating of the best EVs, experts surveyed nearly 10,000 owners of electric vehicles from 2015-2020 on 7 key points: cost of ownership (purchase, charging costs, repairs), range, battery degradation over time, availability of public charging stations, ease of home charging, driving enjoyment, and vehicle quality and reliability.

Based on the results of this survey, each electric vehicle model was given a score on a 1000-point scale. As a result, the following winners emerged:
- Kia e-Niro (782 points);
- Chevrolet Bolt (745);
- Hyundai Kona EV (743).
As you can see, two of the three positions are for the Korean auto industry. Moreover, in fact, we are talking about the same automaker – Hyundai Motor (which includes the Hyundai and Kia brands). Its cars took first and third places respectively, while the second position was taken by a product of American General Motors.

It is noteworthy that all three electric cars belong to the mass market – they are in the middle price category. Surprisingly, not a single premium electric car (be it Tesla, Porsche, Audi) made it into the TOP: perhaps precisely because of the high purchase cost.
