The research results give reason for cautious optimism: such a level of reliability in new cars has not been seen for a long time. The industry average was 121 faults per thousand vehicles, while a year earlier this figure was 134.

Of course, the report also names the brands that have earned the title of the most reliable in recent years. Lexus again took the lead with 81 breakdowns per thousand cars, and Porsche took second place with a score of 86. At the same time, the Porsche 911 was recognized as the most reliable modern car.

Interestingly, last year's winner Genesis dropped to eighth place. But Kia showed the most impressive progress, moving from fourteenth place straight to third.

At the bottom of the list are Jaguar, Alfa Romeo and Land Rover. Moreover, for the British SUV manufacturer, the situation is twice as bad as the industry average: 244 faults per thousand vehicles.

By the way, Tesla made it into the J.D. Power rating for the first time, but its debut result of 176 breakdowns per thousand cars is not impressive yet. True, it is worth considering that the company did not give permission to survey owners in 15 states, so the final data reflects the situation in only 35 states.
