In total, in 2020, 1.8 million ads for the sale of used cars (from 838 thousand owners) were posted in the Ukrainian segment of OLX. Of these, 284 thousand were for gasoline cars, 260 thousand for LPG cars, and another 206 thousand for diesel models. The remaining share is electric cars and hybrids.
As for the average cost of a used car in Ukraine depending on the type of power unit, the picture is as follows:
- Gasoline – 5.2 thousand dollars
- LPG – 3.8 thousand dollars
- Diesel – 7.2 thousand dollars
- Electric – 12.8 thousand dollars
- Hybrid – 13.7 thousand dollars
Analysts also reported on the cost of used cars depending on mileage. Thus, a car with mileage up to 100 thousand km could be bought on average for 6.5 thousand dollars, with an odometer reading of 100-300 thousand – for 6.2 thousand, and over 300 thousand km – 4.3 thousand.
Finally, there is also statistics on brands (however, here we are talking about popularity, not average cost). Most often on OLX they offered to buy Volkswagen (78 thousand ads), Opel (48 thousand), Ford (46 thousand), Mercedes-Benz (36 thousand) Daewoo (33 thousand). In turn, buyers were most interested in the same Volkswagens (71 thousand interested), Opels (53 thousand), Fords (50 thousand), Mercedes (43 thousand), as well as BMW (40 thousand).
Earlier, AvtoPortal reported that Ukraine adopted a bill on affordable customs clearance of “euro plates”. According to it, most owners of such cars will be able to count on customs clearance for no more than 1,000 euros.
