Let's give an example of such maneuvers in relation to the automotive business.

The VAAID (All-Ukrainian Association of Automobile Importers and Dealers) has informed the public that the abolition of the first registration fee will not lead to a reduction in the tax burden at all. On the contrary, it may increase, and several times over.

This topic has been raised and covered more than once by the president of VAAID, Oleg Nazarenko. It is for this reason that his organization categorically disagrees with the changes to the tax code.

The whole problem is that by removing the tax on the first registration of cars, a new excise tax is immediately added. The fee for cars with a gasoline engine up to 1.5 liters will be 20 euros (instead of 63 hryvnias), for engines from 1.5 to 3.0 liters the fee will be 90-180 euros (previously it was 94 hryvnias), and for those who prefer engines larger than three liters, it will be 1550-3000 euros.

These are the flowers, but the berries are the excise taxes for diesel engines. For cars with an engine displacement of more than 2.5 liters, the excise tax will be increased from 1.08 to 2.7 euros/cubic cm. This is fraught with a price increase of 4000-9000 euros. Previously, the excise tax was paid at the rate of 31.82 hryvnias/100 cubic cm. Accordingly, the buyer will pay not 796 hryvnias, but 4026.5 euros.
