In China, intellectual property is treated rather loosely. If you want a 1961 Rolls Royce Phantom but don't have enough money for the original, why not make a more affordable version on standard components?

The company "Qingdao Soar Automobile" has started production of stretched Rolls Royce Phantoms. Usually, this enterprise is engaged in creating vehicles for fire departments and ambulances.

A real Rolls Royce Phantom for comparison

Wealthy Chinese farmers willingly use such cars as wedding limousines. With such a population, "Qingdao Soar Automobile" has plenty of orders. Officially, the model is called "Classic-style wedding car," but the manufacturer claims that more of these cars have been made than the original 1961 Phantoms ever produced.

This is not surprising: the price of such a limousine is about $39,000. It is based on a Great Wall crossover with a 2.4-liter engine from Mitsubishi. The company assures that the quality is high, because, like the English Rolls Royce, each car is assembled by hand.

By the way, in China they make not only copies of vintage Rolls-Royces: almost exact clones of modern models are also produced.
