The Ukrainian atelier Proteros, which has already made a name for itself with unconventional projects, has presented a replica of the iconic Mercedes CLK GTR. The author of this work is designer Hryhorii Tobolin.
According to Tobolin, part of the proceeds from the sale of the car will be transferred to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, the unique machine is located near Amsterdam. Work on it began at the turn of 2019–2020 and was completed quite recently. In essence, it is a coupe-cabriolet based on the Mercedes E-class, reimagined in the style of the racing and collectible GT R.
However, the car owners decided that part of the profit from the sale of this exclusive will go to help Ukraine — it was there, in fact, that the creation of this car began. What makes it special?
Here is what Tobolin himself, known for his bold and extravagant tuning projects, says about his creation:
"I have always been inspired by the approach of European tuners who are able to bring such ideas to life. I admired the bright, rich forms of workshops like Koening Specials, Zagato Design, Shtrosek. It was this admiration that probably prompted me to participate in the design and creation of this unusual car. Soon the project will be put up for sale to start work on the next one.
However, to realize even more ambitious creative ideas, it is necessary for Ukraine to liberate its territories from the Russian occupiers, and for all the country's defenders, including your personal designer Hryhorii Tobolin, to return from the war alive and unharmed".
