The main goal of the partnership with Punch Powertrain is the patented design of the hybrid DT2 robotic gearbox with dual clutch, which will be installed on models with a "mild hybrid" system (MHEV: Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicles).
The design of the innovative "robot" allows reducing the number of parts, and therefore the mass and dimensions of the unit. In addition, this gearbox has high performance and helps reduce fuel consumption, and is also distinguished by a competitive price.
Currently, the partners are negotiating the creation of production at one of the PSA Group's sites and expanding cooperation.
As part of the plan to expand the use of electric traction, the French concern plans to equip all its models with electric versions by 2025.
