Let us note right away that the Hyundai/Kia alliance already has a conceptual crossover Hyundai ix35 on fuel cells. But at Kia they intend to improve the existing power plant, making it more powerful and economical.

The company also plans to reduce the size of the hydrogen engine so that it becomes comparable in dimensions to a 2-liter gasoline internal combustion engine.

According to preliminary data, the new Kia model with a hydrogen power plant will be able to travel up to 800 km on a single refueling. Its market appearance is scheduled for 2020. At the same time, the Koreans want to introduce their own semi-autonomous control technology on production cars. A fully autonomous self-driving vehicle (most likely with a hydrogen power plant) that can safely and without "surprises" drive on public roads should appear in 2030.
