The website of the Verkhovna Rada has published draft law No. 3444 dated 10.11.2015, which proposes amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine as part of the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union.
If the document is approved, the minimum period of ownership of a car imported from abroad for permanent use on Ukrainian territory will be reduced from 12 to 6 months. At the same time, within 24 months after the vehicle is cleared for free circulation on the customs territory of Ukraine, it cannot be sold, gifted, or otherwise transferred to other persons without prior notification of the tax authorities.
