Kyiv deputies supported changes to the appendix "On the establishment of local taxes and fees in Kyiv." They added 214 new night parking lots with 21,657 parking spaces.
In addition, 225 existing lots gained 7,896 more parking spaces. In total, there are 660 parking lots with 60,159 parking spaces in Kyiv.
Head of the Parking Department Dmytro Rakhmatullin explained that these lots had been operating illegally for years and generated income for certain individuals. They were not registered, and the Kyiv budget received not a penny from them.
Now the parking lots will bring the city an additional 46 million hryvnias per year. Another 16.8 million hryvnias will be received by the budget due to the expansion of existing lots.
