As reported by the press service of Ukravtodor, this rule is introduced temporarily, for the summer period. Its goal is to preserve as much as possible the condition of the road surface, which, as is known, is most "killed" by trucks.
The agency emphasized that the ban applies primarily to vehicles with an actual mass of 24 tons and an axle load of more than 7 tons. At the same time, there were exceptions. Thus, the order does not apply to trucks transporting:
- dangerous and perishable goods;
- animals and birds;
- goods related to the prevention or elimination of consequences of emergency situations.
All other truck drivers in Ukravtodor are advised to wait out the heat – at temporary parking areas for vehicles in the right-of-way of highways and near road service facilities. Movement can be continued in the dark, when the temperature drops to an acceptable level.
