This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Biloshytskyi. According to him, one such camera has already been activated in Kyiv at 36 Druzhby Narodiv Boulevard. For now, it operates in test mode, but starting tomorrow, violators will be fined.
Soon, there will be more such cameras in Kyiv and other cities. Recall that the fine for driving in a public transport lane in Ukraine is 510 hryvnias.
Oleksiy Biloshytskyi emphasized that the automatic photo and video recording system has already proven its effectiveness. In areas where cameras are installed, the number of violations has decreased threefold.
In addition, automatic recording cameras have significantly contributed to the state budget of Ukraine. Over 8 months of their operation, more than 200 million hryvnias in fines have been paid.
