First of all, let us remind you that, as AvtoPortal reported earlier, at least until September, Ukrainian drivers should not expect "letters of happiness" for traffic violations. The cameras are currently operating in test mode.
In addition, the Minister of Internal Affairs noted that only one camera is currently installed in the capital. In total, there are three across the country: two in Odesa and one in Kyiv.
"One camera is located in Kyiv on Olena Teliha Street, 51, and another one is on the 'Kyiv – Odesa' highway," Avakov stated. At the same time, despite such a small number of devices, violations worth more than 3 million hryvnias were recorded in six hours of their operation.
Currently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is monitoring traffic density and speeding in test mode and generating fine receipts. However, in September, it is planned to launch a full-fledged automatic violation recording system, after which car owners will start receiving "letters of happiness." Avakov added that every driver still has time and a chance to learn to follow the rules.
