Starting from 4:30 PM today, the city commission on technogenic and environmental safety, as well as emergency situations, imposes a ban on the entry of heavy trucks into Kyiv.

The restriction will last approximately three hours — until 7:30 PM. As explained by the Kyiv City State Administration, this measure will allow snow removal equipment to clear the streets without hindrance and prevent traffic jams on the roads.

Due to the intensifying snowfall, rescuers together with the patrol police have organized round-the-clock duty of tow trucks on the steepest and busiest descents and ascents of the city.

Rescuers and city authorities once again urge drivers to refrain from using personal cars in bad weather conditions and to use public transport. In addition, they ask not to leave cars in places that could interfere with municipal services clearing roads from snow.
