This was reported by the head of the municipal enterprise "Kyivdorservice" Viktor Cherniy. According to him, first of all, LED lighting will be installed at uncontrolled pedestrian crossings near kindergartens and schools. The contractor will be the municipal enterprise "Kyivhorsvit", and funds for implementation have already been provided in the city budget.
Currently, two methods of organizing lighting are being worked out. The first involves connection to a distribution board, the second — the use of solar panels. The initiative to install lighting on "zebras" arose after a petition, whose author proposed "to ensure bright lighting of crossings in the dark", collected over 10,000 signatures.
It is worth recalling that in the autumn of last year, Goodyear company already equipped a number of the most dangerous crossings on Ukrainian roads with lighting. However, at one of such sections, shortly after installation, unknown persons dismantled both solar panels and LED elements.
