Apparently, the official's attention to price tags was drawn by a request from Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk regarding the cost of fuel in the country.
"The fact that oil costs 30 dollars per barrel today is true, but it affects prices with a delay of about a month. Our task today is to agree with oil traders on the approach to calculations. It's about how the world price and the timing of its impact are reflected in our market. We also don't forget about the exchange rate and excise taxes. In any case, I am sure: even taking into account all factors, the price should be at least a hryvnia lower than the current one, and in a month the reduction will continue," Demchyshyn explained.
The Minister also noted that the increase in the excise tax on gasoline from January 1 does not justify the cost of fuel at about 21 hryvnias per liter.
Recall that earlier the Prime Minister instructed Volodymyr Demchyshyn to organize, together with the Antimonopoly Committee, a meeting with participants in the oil products market to discuss pricing issues.
