But the head of the Department of the State Automobile Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anatoliy Sirenko, intends to eliminate it. According to Sirenko, the unpunishable limit for speeding of 20 km/h is a relic of the past.
“There should be some margin of error, 5 km/h, or at most 10 km/h, but in no case 20 km/h. There are no such ‘preferential’ requirements in any European country, and since Ukraine has set a course for European integration, I believe that this norm established by the current administrative code should be removed,” stated Anatoliy Sirenko.

At the same time, the head of the State Automobile Inspection assures that the agency he leads does not intend to lower speed limits in this way. On the contrary, it was on his initiative that the speed threshold on some city roads was increased from 60 to 80 kilometers per hour.
Until April 1, we remind, this innovation does not work – due to seasonality and weather conditions in the autumn-winter period.
