Employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate have prepared a whole range of preventive measures, some of which could provoke serious traffic jams. Already this morning, a multi-kilometer traffic jam formed at the entrance to Kyiv from the Brovary side.

The congestion stretched for five kilometers — from the exit from Brovary to the Bykovnya checkpoint. The cause was a traffic police operation called "Drunk behind the wheel — a criminal." Motorists were surprised that the inspection was decided to be held during the morning rush hour. However, on the other hand, it is precisely at this time that violators often try to slip through unnoticed, hoping that inspectors will not stop everyone indiscriminately.

On the approach to the post, road workers installed signs limiting speed to 40 and 20 km/h, as well as a "Stop" sign. Special corridors for traffic were organized from cones. About 60 inspectors, armed with "Drager" devices, stopped and checked drivers.

The main result of such an inspection was the formation of a huge traffic jam. Some motorists needed almost an hour to pass the checkpoint at the entrance to the capital. As for the plan to identify drunk drivers, it was clearly not fulfilled — a protocol was drawn up only for one violator.

It should be noted that in addition to sobriety checks, the traffic police plans include other actions, including "Pedestrian" and "Safe Speed."
