These figures were announced during the address of the head of the Department of Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anatoliy Sirenko.
In this regard, he again urged motorists: “When approaching educational institutions or kindergartens, be careful, slow down and do not rush! After the summer holidays, many children have not yet adapted to the road situation, have lost vigilance and may unexpectedly appear on the roadway. Such behavior can turn into trouble, so it is drivers who should take the mentioned preventive measures.”
Since the beginning of this year, 17,306 accidents have been recorded, in which 2,729 people died and 21,769 were injured. Moreover, these indicators do not take into account the situation in Crimea, as well as in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
