Earlier, the construction of the facility was estimated at 283–376.5 billion rubles, but now the funding volume has been decided to be reduced to 170 billion rubles.

As reported by the Deputy Head of the Ministry for Crimea, Andrei Sokolov, this will lead to a reduction in the number of traffic lanes. In addition, at the moment, only the first stage is expected to be implemented — until 2018.

The final selection of a contractor for the construction of the narrowed bridge across the Kerch Strait has not yet been made. Of the 70 submitted projects, two remain. The Russian side plans to attract private investors to partially reduce the burden on the budget.

Let us recall that this bridge to Crimea may turn out to be the most expensive in the world.
