According to the Road Safety Center and automated systems at the Department of Traffic Police, this indicator exceeds the mortality rate in accidents for the same period of 2013 by 9.9%.

In addition, the number of road accidents at railway crossings and tracks has increased significantly — the growth was 30%. In almost half of the cases, accidents occur due to the fault of pedestrians.

It is noteworthy that the total number of accidents on the roads (12,340 accidents), on the contrary, decreased by 1.5%. In half of all accidents recorded in Ukraine, the fault lies with pedestrians.
