In addition, the construction of a bypass around Reshetylivka and the construction of a traffic interchange in the village of Butenky are planned. The agreement with the international bank was reached during a recent review of the IBRD project portfolio in Kyiv.

According to Tereziya Babich, head of the international cooperation department at the State Agency of Motor Roads of Ukraine, positive experience with similar projects proved to the bank the possibility of effective investment in the Ukrainian economy.

"This year, a high level of credit funds utilization was achieved across all projects - over 30%, and this is significant progress compared to previous years, which clearly demonstrates to international financial organizations the effectiveness of cooperation with Ukraine. That is why the management of the World Bank office in Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova, represented by its director Chimiao Fan, showed readiness to increase the investment portfolio in the Ukrainian economy," said Babich.

Among a number of Eastern European and Central Asian countries, the share of the transport sector in the bank's investment portfolio in Ukraine is about a quarter and tends to increase.

A natural question arises: investments imply the return of funds to the investor. How and when will our country return these funds, and at whose expense?
