Storm drains and sewers, which have not been cleaned for years, cannot cope with the rain that started on the night of Monday, August 13, and continues to this day.
Kyiv residents report that on Sklyarenko Street, which is located in the Kurenivka area and runs parallel to Frunze Street, the water has risen almost half a meter. Passersby are forced to walk ankle-deep in water.
Some drivers tried to slowly cross the flooded section, while others preferred to turn around. This led to traffic jams.
Earlier it became known that starting Monday, rainy weather is expected in the capital of Ukraine.
