Ford Shelby Cobra is a car that was supposed to go into production but remained a concept car. The manufacturer's idea was to release a successor to the legendary Shelby Cobra, built on the basis of the British roadster AC Cobra in the mid-1960s (the AC Cobra became the first car in which the famous Carroll Shelby installed a Ford V8 engine – in fact, it was a "prologue" to the creation of the legendary Ford Mustang Shelby GT500). However, Ford failed to "revive" the legend – economic difficulties got in the way. The project was shelved, but the car survived. It was last sold in 2017 – then it fetched "only" 825 thousand dollars.

The value of the Ford Shelby Cobra lies in the fact that the entire mileage – a few hundred miles – was covered by Carroll Shelby himself. The legendary inventor and designer personally tested the car for two days at the Irwindale race track in California.

Another feature of the concept is a very rare engine, a 6.4-liter naturally aspirated V10 with 605 hp. At the time, only four such engines were built. The unit works in conjunction with a 6-speed Ricardo manual transmission, created on the basis of the first-generation Ford GT gearbox, and sends torque to the rear wheels.
